Judith Roberts

Judith RobertsI qualified as an Optometrist in 1982 following graduation from the City University, London. I thoroughly enjoy the work particularly the interaction with the patients, although Austin always complains that I talk too much!! My interests include keeping fit, golf ( an active member of Langland Bay Golf Club), singing ( a member of Lleisiau Lliw, a ladies choir based in Pontardulais) and i have recently taken up bridge in an attempt to keep dementia at bay! We have two girls Hannah and Grace who have no interest in following in their parents footsteps. Hannah has aspirations of being a footballer’s wife! and Grace, physiotherapist for the All blacks.

Austin Roberts

Austin RobertsI qualified as an Optometrist in 1997 having retrained at Cardiff University after serving as a Royal Marines officer. We opened the practice in 1996 after my wife had promised me, on proposing to her, that she would never make me live in Wales. Whilst I enjoy my missionary work here in Wales it can be very demanding, particularly when Wales beat Scotland at rugby. That does make for a long year! I love being an optometrist and my special interests are pathology, paediatrics and contact lenses. My other life involves sport and I play golf, yoga and enjoy walking and reading. My gravestone will read “Welsh women always come home!”

Amanda Griffith's

Austin RobertsI was born and raised in Swansea. I went to Bradford University where I qualified with 1st class honours in Optometry in 1989. I stayed 'up North' in Yorkshire for several years where I gained my Masters in Optometry in 1994, as well as my husband. I returned to Swansea for sun, sea, surf and babysitters for my two children Rachael and Jack. I thoroughly enjoy my work, especially when I get to use great equipment and meet different people from all walks of life. In recent years I have developed a particular interest in low vision which can be very rewarding when a simple magnifier can be vital for someone who is partially sighted, and means that they are able to keep their independence and lead a full life. In my spare time I enjoy tennis, skiing and have recently taken up dancing and poker ( although I only play with pretend money!).

Donna Williams

Donna Williams I am married to Julian with four children Tim, Georgina, Tom & Tyla.
I qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1990 after completing a three year correspondence course and attending City & East College, London. What I enjoy most about my work is the variety of people I meet during a day, everyone is different and has individual needs.
Tim our oldest son also works with Judith & Austin on a Saturday, reprogramming the window display screens. He started to do the work as a volunteer for part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award and has stayed ever since. In what spare time I have I enjoy walking our two dogs, reading and tracing our family tree.
